Day 1: Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Departure from Ouarzazate

We begin our adventure in Ouarzazate, also known as the “Gateway to the Desert.” This city is famous for its film studios and the impressive Kasbah of Taourirt, one of Morocco’s most important historical sites. From here, we head east, crossing arid landscapes and imposing mountains.

Visit to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou

Our first destination is the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a spectacular ksar (fortified city) and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to explore its labyrinthine streets and enjoy panoramic views of the surroundings. This kasbah has been the backdrop for numerous films and series, including “Gladiator” and “Game of Thrones.”

Dades Valley

After the visit, we continue to the Dades Valley, known for its impressive gorges and Berber villages. The valley is a perfect blend of natural beauty and tradition. Here, we’ll stop to spend the night in traditional riads that offer spectacular views of the valley.

Day 2: Todra Gorges – Merzouga

The second day begins with a visit to the Todra Gorges, impressive rock formations that rise up to 300 meters in height. This is a perfect place for nature and photography lovers, as the rock walls form a narrow canyon of indescribable beauty.

Journey to Merzouga

After exploring the gorges, we continue our journey to Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi desert. During the journey, we pass through the Ziz Valley, known for its extensive palm groves and small Berber villages. The road to Merzouga offers panoramic views of the desert stretching out to the horizon.

Sunset Camel Ride

Upon arrival in Merzouga, we prepare for one of the most anticipated moments of the trip: the sunset camel ride. We will mount our camels and venture into the desert to enjoy the stunning sunset over the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. After the ride, we will arrive at a nomadic camp where we will spend the night under a sky full of stars.

Day 3: Merzouga – Return to Ouarzazate

Sunrise in the Desert

The third day starts early, as one of the most magical moments of this route is watching the sunrise in the desert. The dunes change color as the sun rises, creating a visual spectacle you will never forget.

Visit to Rissani

After enjoying the sunrise and a traditional breakfast, we head towards Rissani, a small town that was an important trading center during the Saharan empire. Here you can visit its traditional market, where locals exchange goods and you can get a closer look at everyday life in this part of Morocco.

Return to Ouarzazate

From Rissani, we begin our journey back to Ouarzazate, making a few stops along the way to rest and enjoy the landscapes. We will arrive in Ouarzazate in the afternoon, concluding an unforgettable desert experience.
